We are glad you chose to play lacrosse. We hope you enjoy your time spent with us learning how to play this truly Native American sport. I encourage you all to check out the ABOUT tab on the left and read our Vision/Mission/Values statements and learn more about this game we all play.
We choose to "HONOR THE GAME" here which means we will show respect to our teammates, opponents, and officials, and mostly to have fun. Whether you win or lose, you will learn to compete, make some lasting friendships, and can state that you play THE FASTEST GAME ON TWO FEET!
What a great weekend of lax this past Saturday and Sunday for the boys Select teams. They traveled south to Connecticut to the heart of Lax country and came away 6-2 overall. Hosted in Southington, CT, the tournament was comprised of teams from CT, MA, NY, and NH.
Saturday saw our U13 team go 2 & 2 against some strong competition. They opened up against a very good Duxbury Dragon squad and they came away victorious with a 5-2 win. They then faced off vs Madison CT and won that as well. the third game saw them face a 7th and 6th grade (legal for U13?) squad from Danbury CT and they lost a tough one 3 to 1. Outmanned and outgunned, they hung tough and showed Danbury they could play with them. They were then asked to play a back to back game against Greeley NY to close out the day with a gritty (and exhausted) 4-3 loss.
The U15 team played four on Sunday and ran the table. They opened with a strong 5-2 win vs an overmatched Simsbury CT team. Then faced one of the stronger programs in State of CT held on for a tough 5-3 win vs Glastonbury CT. After a short break, they then squared off on what was the game of the day with Duxbury. After playing defense for the first 5 minutes of the game and not touching the ball, Holliston's defense held fast and created a fast break score and Holliston was off to the races. Disussions of Holliston who? were heard throughout the Duxbury faithful as Hollsiton closed out a 5-3 win. Finishing up with a Danbury squad that had a few players who looked a lot like the ones that faced the U13 boys the day before, Holliston dominated the field of play and came home with the victory.
Thanks to all the Panther faithful who made the trek down. It was a beautiful weekend for Lax. Congratulations to all the boys for Honoring the Game and showing that we play some pretty good Lax here in Metro West MA.
PLAY ON!
